SHORT VERSION: I have no sense of how annoying I am when I post journals about merch that is available. I forsee myself doing it in the future. Happiness of my readers is the most important thing to me, so if I start annoying you, please tell me to cut it out and I will love you forever. Bunnies for everyone!!1
In the future (today is the future btw) I will post information about Meek merchandise such as comics, shirts, toys etc. as they become available. This is because my publisher, 4DE, is doing an amazing job at kicking my ass into actually promoting myself and making merchandise that is related to the Meek. I avoided doing that sort of thing on my own because of time constraints, lack of resources and overall doubt that people care enough to want anything that I make (not fishing for compliments, this is just how I think).
But I feel sick to my stomach every time I need to post a self-promotion. It makes me feel like a greedy sellout even though I know its perfectly legit and actually necessary to support my work and the work that 4DE does (for all of its amazing success so far, it is actually very new/ small company).
Because I have no idea how much/ little I should promote, and because I am obligated to do so, I am afraid I will go overboard and become super annoying to my readers. I will try to keep the advertising to a minimum and balance it out with pimps for outside comics and things that I like and think you will enjoy too, same as I usually do.
What I'm hoping for you to do is to YELL AT ME if I go overboard and advertise myself to an annoying degree. I would 1000000000x rather have someone snark at me about that than for me to find out later that I was being super fail and not knowing it. I personally hate and have a mental list of comics that sound like they only want to sell shit, SO PLEASE tell me if I get to be like that! Keep in mind that I never ever get mad at any legitimate opinion about anything. I will really try my best not to pimp myself too much, but you guys are the best judge of that sort of thing ;_;
